The Czech crown is the official currency of the Czech Republic. You might also hear it referred to as the Czech crown. It is abbreviated as CZK, and its symbol is Kč.
The krona has been the official currency of the Czech Republic since the country was first established in 1993, when it replaced the Czechoslovak krona.
It comes in bills and coins. Coins are available in denominations of 1 Kč, 2 Kč, 5 Kč, 10 Kč, 20 Kč and 50 Kč and banknotes in denominations of 100 Kč, 200 Kč, 500 Kč, 1000 Kč, 2000 Kč and 5000 Kč.
Which countries use the Czech crown?
The Czech Republic is the only country that officially uses the Czech crown.
Does the Czech Republic use the euro?
Although the Czech Republic is a member of the European Union, it has not yet committed itself to switching to the euro. The change was planned for 2010, but the Czech government postponed it in 2005 and there are currently no official plans for the change.
If you're traveling to the Czech Republic, it's safe to assume that you'll need Czech crowns to spend while you're there. In some tourist centers, such as Prague, you can find shops and restaurants that accept euros, but the exchange rate is not necessarily favorable.

No matter how you buy travel money, whether in store, online or over the phone, we won't charge you any card processing fees. Regardless of the type of card, the card issuer may charge fees, e.g. cash advances or other fees, so check with them before you buy travel money.
Click and charge for cancellations
You can cancel your Click & Collect order at any time before collection. We will refund the full amount in sterling you have paid for your order unless you cancel it less than 24 hours before the collection date, in which case we will charge a late cancellation fee of £10.
We cannot refund any fees charged by your card issuer, so please contact them if you have any questions.
